Saturday 6 September: The Big Apple Family Fun Day
On Saturday 6 September as part of the Council’s annual Armagh Food and Cider Festival we held an Apple Family Fun day in the magical heritage orchard at Kane’s Farm. On the day visitors learned all about the humble apple through orchard tours, talks and apple games, and even got the chance to step back in time to make apple juice with Mr Pip! Along the way everyone got to taste over 20 different varieties of Irish apples! A big thank you to Jeremy Turkington of Home Tree and to Paul Derby and Alan Sneddon of the education team at Navan Centre and Fort for facilitating the appletastic activities.
