An Introduction to Hedgelaying

Join us for this one day practical hands-on workshop were you will learn the basic techniques required to assess, lay and maintain mixed species hedging facilitated by award winning hedgelayer – Clive Lyttle of Hedgerows Ireland at Kane’s Farm, Lurgan, which is close to Oxford Island.

Clive advocates the important role of hedgerows across Ireland, providing food and refuge for wildlife. Healthy properly managed hedges provide essential wildlife corridors connecting our remaining woodlands, wetland and bog habitats. They also form the most effective stockproof barriers.

This is a one-day practical hands-on course and does not require any previous experience but participants must OVER 18.

Although tools will be provided, all participants are required to wear robust outdoor clothing, footwear and gloves .
