Lurgan Stories

Over the past year we have been out and about capturing on film the many positive stories which make Lurgan the wonderful place that it is.

The Lurgan Stories project was the brainchild of Paul Moorhead, founder of the community interest film production company Kettle of Fish. Paul, a former teacher at Lurgan Junior High School,  annoyed by the negative barbs frequently aimed at Lurgan wanted to create a series of short films capturing all that is good and great about Lurgan.  He felt the films should document Lurgan’s architecture,  history, people and the many positive actions happening to improve life throughout the town.

We were delighted to partner with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive to co-fund Paul’s project, but sadly just as we began to film, Paul passed away on 9 October 2021.  We however felt that continuing the project in honour of Paul and his great vision was the right decision and are we are pleased to now be able to publish the project. With thanks to Peter Mackey and Michael Bradshaw White for creating the films.
