Thursday 5 June 2025: Handel’s Messiah with afternoon tea
On the evening of Thursday 5 June we supported the performance of Handel’s Messiah by the TU Dublin Conservatoire Choral and Orchestral Society at Brownlow Castle as part of the Brownlow Festival organised by Brownlow Castle and the Friends of Shankill Graveyard.
Set within the grandeur of the Castle’s historic ballroom, this event offered a unique blend of classical music and fine dining and commemorated the occasion when William Brownlow’s played the harpsichord at the very first performance of the Messiah in Dublin in 1742.
This fully booked event was greatly enjoyed by all who attended with the TU Dublin conservatoire also greatly moved by the emotion in the room.
A full recording of the concert will be made available to view on our website and social media channels shortly.
