Monday 2 & Tuesday 3 March 2026: Repair of Earthen Buildings workshops
We were delighted to host two workshops focusing on the repair of earthen buildings which were organised by the CITB Northern Ireland and facilitated by Tom Pollard of Pollard Conservation and Restoration (www.pollardconservationrestoration.ie)
The 1-day workshops took place at Kane’s Farm, on Boconnell Lane, Lurgan, where two listed farmhouses provided the inspiration for the workshops. Participants, including architects, builders, heritage skill students and homeowners were given hands-on training on the repair of vernacular earthen buildings through the practical mixing and application of earthen mortars, renders and plasters.
