Saturday 18 April 2026: Make Your Own Fruit Trees. An Introduction to Bench Grafting
On Saturday 18 April we hosted a fantastic fruit tree grafting workshop at Kane’s Farm, facilitated by Jeremy Turkington of Hometree.
In this practical introductory workshop Jeremy introduced 16 participants to the art of bench grafting that covered everything from grafting theory to collecting and storing scion materials, grafting techniques and the aftercare of grafted trees.
Participants then had the chance to try grafting themselves with everybody bringing home an orchard of 10 grafted trees of Irish heritage variety of apples.
