Lurgan Legends: Education Programme
During the year we worked with the primary 7 classes of Carrick Primary School, Dickson Primary School, Lurgan Model Integrated Primary School and St. Teresa’s Primary School on project which explored the achievements of notable people from the town including Mollie McGeown, Jocelyn Bell Burnell, Sir John Greer Dill and George ‘AE’ Russell. The programme included visits to the Armagh Observatory and Planetarium to find out more about Jocelyn Bell Burnell and Armagh County Museum to view the art works of AE Russell. Together the classes have produced a film showcasing what they have learned through the project. Have a watch below:
